Physics 6 Tutorial 13 - Fuel Cells

Home

Summary

In this tutorial, we compare the calorific values (energy per unit mass) of fuels and consider what alternatives there are to fossil fuels.  We discover that the calorific value of hydrogen is three time that of petrol and diesel.  We go on to consider how we can use hydrogen in a fuel cell, and the advantages and disadvantages of so doing.
