Summary

In this tutorial, we will review the ideas of thermal conduction that you did at GCSE.  Then we go on to consider the factors that are involved in the flow of heat through a material in steady state, leading on to thermal conductivity.  Then we consider the U-values of building elements like windows, doors and walls.  We then use an electrical analogy to help us to consider how heat is lost from rooms.  Then we link thermal conductivity with the U-value
