
In this tutorial, we will explore further
the quantum nature of the hydrogen atoms. We will look at the
Lyman, Balmer, and Paschen series of transition lines. This leads
to the equation that helps us to predict the energy levels in the Bohr
model of the hydrogen atom.
We then go on to consider the idea of
electron waves in boxes in one dimension. We take this further
using two dimensions, before deriving the energy level equation using
both classical and quantum ideas.
