Team Titan’s French poker pro Christophe Benzimra finished in 34th place at the prestigious WPT Grand Prix de Paris, staged at the famous Aviation Club de France on the Champs-Elysées in Paris.

312 players paid the €7,500 buy-in to participate in the prestigious WPT Grand Prix de Paris Main Event. Marvin Rettenmaier and Yann Brosolo from Team Titan didn’t finish in the money even though Rettenmaier started the tournament very well finishing Day 1B among the chipleaders. He was also leading the field for a good part of Day 2.
Marvin declared after his elimination: “I reached the point of the tournament where you need to win some flips to be able to play for the win. Unfortunately, I lost these crucial flips so I am logically (but unfortunately) out. But next time will be mine 😉 ”
Other poker stars were in Paris to try to take down the title of WPT champion, among them Jason Mercier, Juha Helppi, Martin Jacobson, Freddy Deeb, Davidi Kitaï, Sorel Mizzi, Arnaud Mattern, Antoine Saout and Anton Makiievski (November Nine).
Christophe Benzimra, who won the EPT Warsow in 2009 showed a good result after 3 days of a high level fight. Unfortunately the French pro from Team Titan had to leave the tournament when his pocket Queens was beaten by Russian Dimitry Stelmak’s pocket Kings. Stelmak eventually finished 8th in the tournament and won €66,665,
Veteran Lorna Lancaster on Titan Poker Improvements
Lorna Lancaster from Canada finished in 12th place at this year’s Irish Open in Dublin, taking home a prize of €19,400. Lorna, who plays at Titan Poker under the nickname “MrsTree33”, was the final woman player surviving in that tournament.
On the occasion of Titan Poker’s 6 Year Anniversary, we interviewed Lorna, one of our veteran players, and asked her if she remembered what Titan Poker was like at the beginning.
“I do,” she told us, saying that she remembered “the red pointer to tell when it was my turn to act – I hated that thing! The tournaments are better now – good variety.”
We asked Lorna, who has been playing at Titan Poker since 2006, whether she was pleased how Titan Poker has developed.
“Yes, I do like the improvements. There are more I would like to see added: a Timer for the tough decisions. Bounty tournaments would be popular! They were at Full Tilt! I would also like to see Club Titan back. Lobby chat would be huge here at Titan. Not just chat at the tables. Lobby Chat has kept many players still together from PokerRoom.com – we became friends – and have stayed that way through the years.”
How does Lorna rate the customer service at Titan Poker?
“Really good. Online support is a great idea. Being able to call and talk or email is very useful. Matters are always handled in a timely fashion.”
What is Lorna’s favorite feature at Titan Poker?
“I really like the variety of land-based tournaments that are available to win packages for. Site features – I like My Favorites, deposit and withdraw options, lots of tournaments to choose from.”
What was Lorna’s biggest achievement at Titan Poker?
“Winning packages to live events and then enjoying the trip and winning money in the live games,” she said.
Lorna has represented Titan Poker at the Irish Open and at other live events. She’ll be playing on our behalf at the upcoming Irish Winter Festival and many other exciting events around the world in the years to come.
